Women’s Saturday Ride

We offer a weekly ladies leisure ride which is part of the Saturday club ride and is organised and run by our Breeze ride Leaders Julia, Jackie and Beth

The ladies leisure ride is ideal if you:

– Are taking up cycling for the first time.

– Have not been out on your bike in a while.

– Are nervous about riding in a larger group.

– Or if you would just like to meet other ladies who love cycling.

Our routes are slightly shorter than the main group, approximately 25miles in length and at an average pace of around 10mph.  We have two routes, one towards Grange and one towards Silverdale, (you can see the route maps below). The routes have been designed to be as flat as possible, although there are a couple of minor hills (the more you do then the easier they become!).  The group is very supportive and encouraging, we will show you how to ride as a group and teach you all the hand signals. Don’t worry about the hills either, we stick together and never leave anyone behind!

Towards the end of the ride we meet up with the other groups at Sizergh Castle Cafe for tea and cake (20% off with a KCC membership card), perfect if you have a partner or friend who rides with the other groups.  It’s also a great opportunity to meet other members of the club.

IMG_0285Cycling with a club is a great way to improve your cycling and bike handling skills as well as meeting lots of new people.  We know from experience how daunting it can be to join a new club. If you have any questions, or would like to let us know you are coming along for the first time on a Saturday, please send an email to women@kendal.cc.   We look forward to seeing you on a Saturday club ride soon!
